Search Engine Optimization
Great observation Carolyn. Blogs were meant to be followed by users and not so much found by search engines. I know of so many agents that have blogged their eyballs out only to stop and consider time spent and more time spent for tepid results.

And when you say top of the first page, is it a term people type in?

If you are prospecting in a highly active market and see a blog appear for relevant serach terms, that says an optimized site would kill it for those terms.

Remember this with Web sites and blogs, approx. 30% is web site, 30% off site and 40% technique.

Where do I want to be on the first page of Search Engine pages?? Good question..

Follow your instincts about how you surf, find and click on a Search Engine offering. Chances are it is not the top, or first one on the page. Most people say "I never click on the first offering".

I've been getting asked this a lot.. Should I put a "like" button on my website since face is being inundated with marketeers?? Well, since goog would be giving up ad revenues if it actually wanted to index and provide sites with this on it..? I'm not so sure. Given the nature of ad revenue transferance, from one to the other, I guess only time will tell but $$ talks and (fill in the blank) walks.

"Liking" schemes, such as you like me and I'll like you back seem a little like glorified link swaps. Sharing with digg, delicious, stumbleupon, reddit and etc have been around awhile??  SE's sniff this out like you wouldn't believe..

time'll tell

imo

 A bit about blogs..
Faq's:
I'm paying for blogging so as to "release" or "make public" to the outside world of search engines and I cant find myself anywhere, what happened?
A: :) First, kudos to the service that sold it to so many as it has been a great biz model for the owners. Second, is it tightly "themed" to real estate or is it a free for all account of broken links, your kids, pictures of sunsets, social media hype, oversize picture files, silly stories and etc..? You might want to go back and see your blog the way the SE's do. Oh, and feeding this to your site and social media accounts... you be the judge.

that about says it all..
